How To Clean Toilet Bowl Ring In Less Than 20 Minutes
Have you had problems with rust stains in your toilet? Well, so have we and we’ve wasted a ton of money trying a number of commercial cleaning products to no avail.
In this article, we’re going to teach you how to get rid of toilet rust stains in 20 minutes or less without the need for any scrubbing.
That’s a tall order we know so let’s get started removing those unsightly mineral and limescale deposits from your toilet bowl.
Supplies Needed To Complete The Task
- Iron Out Toilet Bowl Cleaner (It removes rust and hard water stains) -Amazon ($12.97) in a 4-pound, 12-ounce size
- Rubber gloves
- 5 Gallon Bucket – (used for hot water, the hotter the better)
- Old rag or towel
- Drain stopper
- Measuring cup
Step 1 – Remove the toilet tank’s lid and carefully set it aside.
Step 2 – Turn the main water supply off at the back of the toilet.
Step 3 – Flush the toilet. You want to make sure the toilet’s bowl is completely empty.
Step 4 – Use the plunger to push the water that remains through the P-trap.
Step 5 – When you’ve got most of the water out of the bowl take the old towel and plug up the P-trap.
Step 6 – Place the drain stopper over the top of the towel to further seal off the hole that leads to the P-trap.
Step 7 – Fill your 5-gallon bucket with hot water. We like our water’s temperature to be at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 8 – Pour the hot water into the bowl. Make sure your water rises to a level high enough so that it gets rid of all the ugly rust stains as well as clean the toilet jets. Pour the remaining water from your bucket into the tank.
Step 9 – Pour 1/2 cup of Iron Out toilet bowl powder into the toilet bowl.
Step 10 – Place a 1/4 cup of Iron Out in the toilet’s tank.
Step 11 – Turn on an exhaust fan or open a window and set the timer on your watch for 20 minutes. Leave the bathroom.
Step 12 – Return to the bathroom after 20 minutes and put on your rubber gloves.
Step 13 – Remove the towel and drain stopper and allow the water in the bowl to drain.
Step 14 – Turn the water back on and flush the toilet. Replace the tank’s lid and enjoy your sparkling white toilet bowl minus the ugly rust stains.
This is an easy way to clean ugly toilet bowl stains and wash them down the drain.
